About Raymond Campbell:
Born in Surrey, England, in 1956, Raymond Campbell discovered a natural ability and interest in art whilst attending the local High School. Painting seriously from 1975, it was not until 1978 that Ray Campbell was able to travel extensively throughout the UK and Europe. From here his career began to take shape when he studied the 19th century masters intensively, in particular the Dutch painters whose style was greatly to influence his own, inspiring him to paint in the Flemish tradition. He has now developed his own individual style that is widely recognised and greatly admired.
During the last ten years Raymond Campbell has exhibited in group exhibitions at home and abroad and he has been successful at the prestigious Summer Exhibition held at the Royal Academy.
